Mine BigCoin & run a node

⛏️ BigCoin is CPU-minable today. Since the ASERT hard fork (block 17,325, Nov 2026) difficulty re-tunes every block to match whoever is mining, so an ordinary PC finds blocks at the current difficulty. There is no pool — everything below is solo mining, and every block you find pays the full 50 BIG reward. As always: BigCoin has no promised value and nothing is for sale.

Quick facts

AlgorithmSHA-256d — identical to Bitcoin, so any Bitcoin mining hardware or software works
Block reward50 BIG, halving every 210,000 blocks
Block interval10-minute target; difficulty adjusts every block (ASERT, 2-day half-life)
Reward maturitya mined reward becomes spendable after 100 confirmations (roughly one day)

Easy start — Windows, 2 steps

  1. Download BigCoin-win64-v1.5.zip from the downloads page and extract it anywhere, e.g. C:\BigCoin.
  2. Double-click mine-bigcoin.cmd (bundled in the zip since v1.5; if you use the older v1.4 zip, download the script into the extracted folder first). It starts a node, syncs the chain (a few minutes), creates a wallet with its own mining address, and starts mining. Leave the window open.
Filemine-bigcoin.cmd — easy solo-miner script (3.8 KB)
SHA-2561fd7452f3098fce07d9a644823a618a2a0bb28153d4e12fc4b8bde7c8a41dcc6

More speed: double-click the script again — each window mines on one CPU core; one window per core is a sensible maximum.
Stop mining: close the mining window(s). Stop the node: run bigcoin-cli.exe -datadir=data stop in the same folder.
Your coins: the wallet is stored in the data subfolder — back that folder up. You can watch your mining address right here on the explorer.
Note: Windows SmartScreen may warn because the binaries are unsigned. The source code is public and every binary can be rebuilt from it — verify the SHA-256 above after downloading.

Run a node (no mining)

A node independently verifies the whole chain and makes the network more robust. It needs no coins, earns nothing, and uses little CPU or bandwidth — an always-on PC or a Raspberry Pi-class Linux machine is plenty.

Windows: extract the release zip and run bitcoind.exe
(the bundled bitcoin.conf already points at the seed node)

Linux: unpack bigcoin-source-v1.5.zip, then build and run it
          exactly like Bitcoin Core:
cmake -B build && cmake --build build -j4
            ./build/bin/bitcoind -addnode=133.242.139.204:8338

Advanced: ASIC and external miners

bigcoind serves the standard getblocktemplate RPC, so any SHA-256d mining software or ASIC can mine solo against your own node — for example through a self-hosted solo stratum (such as ckpool in solo mode) pointed at a local bigcoind. There is no official pool and none is planned; anyone is free to run their own.
